Carbomer 940 is a polyvinyl carboxy polymer used as a viscosity enhancer, gelling, or suspension agent. It is used primarily in systems where sparkling clarity or a sharp viscosity response is required.

Storage: Tightly closed container for up to 18months (will clump with moisture).
Cautions: Avoid inhalation - work in a well ventilated area. Do Not smoke while working with the product as airborne powder can ignite if in contact with open flames.
It adds softness and glide and is comparable to glycols when added to your formulations. It is a great addition to your clear gel products (such as shower gel) and especially if you wish to suspend items such as Jojoba Beads. Although Carbomer does not have any particular benefits to skin it is more of an aid to help other ingredients.
