Bath Bombs

Basic Recipe:

2   parts Baking Soda
1   part Citric Acid
1   part Cornstarch (optional)
?   Oil (almond, jojoba, olive, etc)

Optional:
1/2 part      Espom or Sea Salt - adds sheen to ball and makes water softer
10%-15%   Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate - adds a layer of foam to bath water

This recipe can be made in any amount needed.  For example to make about 4 round bombs (approx 60mm):

To Make 4 x 60mm bath bombs:

1   cup Baking Soda (290 gm)
1/2 cup Citric Acid (124 gm)
1/2 cup Cornstarch (80 gm)
1/4 cup Dead Sea Salt (80 gm)
2 tbsp of Sweet Almond Oil
Optional: Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (10% of the first 3 ingredients = 10% of 2 cups = .2 of a cup or approximately 1/4cup of SLS)

With this amount of dry goods I would add about 2 tbsp of liquid (any combination of oils, melted cocoa or shea butter and even some water or witch hazel).

Sift all your dry ingredients together and add the salt if using. (The salt adds a bit of "shine" to the ball and helps soften the water).

Slowly drizzle some of the liquid into the dry mixture while continuously moving the dry goods around with your hand (a rubber glove is recommended). Add more liquid at intervals mixing well in between each addition. Once the mixture is "formable", press into the two halves of your Bath Bomb mold.  Then press the two halves together being careful not to twist them together.

Let sit for a few minutes and then unmold. Let them air dry overnight.  If the ball sticks to the mold and comes apart you may be able to rescue it by adding some more dry ingredients to the mix.
