Safety Notes: This essential oil may contain phototoxic properties and it is suggested to avoid exposure to the sun after application to the skin. For external use only; dilute before use. May cause skin irritations, a skin test is recommended prior to use, avoid contact with eyes.
Usage: Antidepressant, antiseptic (pulmonary, genitourinary), antispasmodic, antitoxic, digestive, diuretic, deodorant, laxative, parasiticide, stimulant, stomachic, tonic, vermifuge, vulnerary. Balancing, regenerating - Good for acne, blemishes, eczema, insect bites, and wounds. Used in bathing, hair care, inhalation, massage, skin care, and vaporizer/diffuser.
Blends well with: Black Pepper, Clary Sage, Cypress, Geranium, Jasmine, Mandarin, Nutmeg, Orange, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Ylang-ylang.
The name Bergamot is derived from the city Bergamo in Lombardy where the oil was first sold. The bergamot tree grows smooth leaves and star-shaped flowers, bearing a pear-shaped citrus fruit that resembles a cross between an orange and a grapefruit.
