This clear liquid is used to test soap for excess lye. To test the soap cut off a portion of the center of the soap and apply a drop of the phenolphthalein solution. If the solution turns deep pink or fuchsia then the soap should not be used on skin. If the drop stays clear or light pink then the soap is safe.Please Note: This product is designed for educational and teaching laboratories and no certificate of analysis is available.
First Aid: Get medical attention immediately following all first aid.
Skin: Immediately flush skin with excess water for 15 min while removing contaminated clothing or shoes.
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with excess water for 15 min, lifting lower and upper eyelids occasionally.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.
Ingestion: Call poison control immediately. Aspiration hazard. Rinse mouth with cold water. Give victim 1-2 tbsp. of activated charcoal mixed with 8oz of water.
Target organs: Liver, kidney and central nervous system.
