Does anyone on here own an actual candle store?? Or a store where alot of their product is candles and related items?
I am just wondering how biz is going for you? Based on another post that was on the boards, it made me wonder if there was money in a business that mainly sells candles. I dont want you to go into details and give out information you dont feel comfortable giving...but I would be interested in knowing if it is a profitable business. I knwo its harder selling online...but in a store???

I think the only stores that make money where it's strictly candles is the big boys like Yankee where they have a retail outlet attached to their manufacturing facility. And even Yankee, has hundreds of reps pushing their products to retailers. I think with candles, you really have to incorporate with giftware to stay afloat.

I agree, I added Gourment du Village products to my product line up and to help with gift basket sales. Its worked out really well.

Hello Black Crow:

We have been operating in New Hamburg Ontario now since 2005. We make our soy candles on the premises in a workshop in our facility as well as sell the candles in the store front. We are still here!! We sell only our Soy Candles as well as accessories which are ONLY made in Canada. Our store contains candle accessories and our Candles and NOTHING MADE IN CHINA...and we are very successful! Our on line is definately ok but not as good as the clientelle who come by as well as our regulars! It will take time, but try it...U will like it!
