I was wondering if there was something I could add to my wax to make a better hot scent throw. My candles have a wonderful cold throw but they don't seem to smell as much when they are lit and I could improve them ...
Thanks in advance...

Hi Charlene,

What type of wax are you using and how much oil % wise are you incorporating into it? The size of the container and wick also have an impact as to the hot throw it's generating for you.

Once we know these things, we can work with it and come up with a solution for you. :)

Hi Ya...
I use the recommened 1.6 oz of container wax per pd, I warm my oils first and I use a 16 oz jar. I am happy with the wicks I use, they do a full melt pool and burn quite clean.
I am giving Vybar 260 a try and see if I can get an improvement with it. If that don't work I don't know quite where to go from there...

Hi Charlene,

I take it you're using a paraffin based container wax...correct? If the 260 doesn't work for you, than it may be that particular oil in general. Not all oils are created equal in the Hot Scent Throw Dept. Another factor is the degree that you're adding the oil to the wax. If the wax is over 185 - 200 deg., you may be burning off a lot of the fragrance which gets evaporated into the air. Try adding oil at a lower temp and see what happens. If you left the wax sit at a temp. of over 190-200 for a long period of time, that could have also burned off some of the additives already in the wax.
