Hello.. I love reading all the messages on this site as well. Full of info...especially about the Presto Pots sold only in the US..saves me some gas..I have been searching everywhere in town here for them! Wondering is anyone could share what sites they are purchasing all the their supplies from. It's hard to find any Canadian sites, this is the only one I have found. Thing like packaging and pip berries and candle plates are hard to find and alot of the company don't ship to us or they do at an expensive rate. If you know of any great US sites, I would love those as well. Thanks in advance. Appreciate the help!! ~Charlene

Hi Charlene, Don't know if you're from Ontario but here's a couple of good wholesalers. Stargazer imports, www.stargazeroriginals.com, sell pip berries, candle plates etc. but sell only to registered businesses in the gift trade, for packaging try creative bag (I think they're at www.creativebag.com?) Both have cash and carry showrooms located in Mississauga, not far from Canwax. Hope this helps... Dollarama is also a great resource for creative packaging...

Thanks for the help. I don't live in Ontario..I used to but now I am in Alberta. I have been looking at ALOT of web sites and alot of them don't ship to Canada. Our dollar stores up here aren't that great and our craft store is even worse. They want almost $40.00 for a 11 pound block of cheap wax and all the stuff I want to make my crafts look their best I simply can't find. I love this site for things but it still doesn't have everything I want. Anyway..thanks again! ~Charlene

Hi Charlene Both places do have online catalogues and ship anywhere in Canada through CanPar. Have heard that Dollarama are working their way West... if you ever hear of one opening nearby be sure to check them out...also a not bad US craft supply place is Factory Direct Craft and they definitely ship to Canada...www.factorydirectcraft.com I think, or just google Factory Direct Craft and it will pop up. What kind of supplies are you looking for specifically?

Hi Charlene, I don't have any sites for the candle plates etc but I do buy many molds State Side. Mostly what I buy is silicone or urethane rubber molds. Unfortunately I can't find any available in Canada. If you are interested drop me a line and I can share with you some great sellers who are happy to ship to Canada!

Hi Charlene, Glad I could help. It's so frustrating for us to know that so much is available in the states but won't cross the border to deliver to us. Another one you can try (But I haven't ordered from, so I'm not sure about shipping...) is www.rustytin.com. and there is a Canadian supplier who sells a small amount of rusty tin, at www.stockade.ca, they ship thru Canada Post expedited and have the best shipping rates for that kind of stuff but not a lot of selection. The grubby molds though seem to only be available through the States. But I'm sure if enough of us were to express an interest in them to SJ she may be able to look into distributing them here? Maybe we should start a new topic to see how many of her customers would be interested in them?

Hi, I have ordered stuff from Stockade before, it is mostly for woodworking crafts, yes they do sell some rusty tin but not in bulk so I don't find them that cheap. They are located in Guelph, On. They have a lot more in their showroom that they have in their cataloge. They have an online cataloge or they will send you one if you ask. Ok let's all send an email to SJ and see what she do about getting us some silicone molds. I would love to get my hands on a grubby pillar mold.Anyone with me? Just a thought. bye for now. Auntie S

Hi! Here is who I use in the states and have ordered from them many times: Craft Wholesalers, they only have a $50 min order but you only have to buy one of each item if that is all you need. Colonial Tinware is another great place to get stuff like candle plates and melt warmers. Sacet.com for bulk rosehips kraftoutlet.com if you are looking for those brown kraft labels for printing great priniting labels for your candles Flexible Molds sells WONDERFUL silicone molds and her prices are not too bad either and she is super sweet. Pritchard Packaging has great packaging items at good prices. Hope some of that helps everyone out a bit. I used to own a store so I have alot of sources that I used and still use today for my online biz. I'm also heavily into the whole primitive "thing". Also, if you are into the Melissa frances stickers, which make great holiday labels for your candles, you can get them for alot better prices at craft wholesalers rather then getting them at stockaid. I have been to stockaid and wasnt too impressed with their prices. Craft wholesalers also carries the rusty tin stuff like primitive stars, and pip berries with the primitive stars attached. Happy Shopping! ---------- Black Crow

Hey Black Crow I was at a dollar store the other day and found these wooden frames, took the back and the glass out, painted them primitive colors, stenciled some stars around the frame. They look very primitive. I even found some wooden plate stands. They are already painted black so all you have to do is scuff them up a little with the old sand paper.I didn't like the brass hinges on them so I took them apart and sprayed the hinges flat black. They'd be perfect for the wooden plates we get there. Don't ya just love that store? Bye for now. Auntie S

That's great!!! There are just so many things you can use US based and while I have nothing against the US it would be nice to have one geared towards Canadians. I am going to look into having a crafting forum added to my website. ---------- Black Crow

LOL!! I'm reading my post here and noticing that part of it is missing...explains why it doesnt make sense. What it should have said was that's great about the $$ store finds and what you can do with what you can get from there and that there are so many things you can only get from the US and it would be nice if they were just as easily available here in Canada. Then I was thinking that there are so many of us canadian crafters who have so many great ideas and it would be nice if we had a general crafting forum where we can share ideas and sources with each other and those who just like to craft. there are so many craftng forums geared towards the US and it would be nice to have one geared towards us Canadians here. Oh well, that is what my post was SUPPOSED to say. Another great thing you can do from dollar store items is buying those stacking boxes that come in all sorts of ugly colours and patterns and you can paint them and sand them down and then stencil words and sayings on them and when your done you have your own set of primitive stacking boxes. I like painting mine black and stencling on them. ---------- Black Crow www.blackcrowhollow.com

Hi Black Crow, I think that is also a great idea (about the general craft thing) When you go into thoes stores and see things, you just think, what could I do to make these things look different. The ideas are endless. I also stitched some words on homespun and framed them with the wooden frames I bought there. They look great.I'm sure there are alot of people on this board that do more than just candles. I know I do. I would gladly join your forum. Checked out your site. Coming along very nicely. Auntie S
