Problems with soy wicks

I just recently switched over to soy wax and had ordered the wicks according to the chart on this website. The problem is when I tested the votive candle with the HTP 41 wick. It is not burning out to the edge and after an hour the flame gets really small almost to the point of being snuffed out. What I'm using is ECo soy votive wax,HTP 41 wick, 1 oz of oil to 1lb of wax and wax colouring. What am I doing wrong? I've noticed on the other messages that some people use HTP 71. I'm testing 3 candles currantly and they're all doing the same thing! Do I need to lower my fragrance oil or switch to higher HTP? Thanks for any info!

You could try less fragrance oil for the heavier ones and also, you are never limited to suggested wicks. Try different wicks too, you might find something you like better

I use the same wax and I find that the HTP73's work great for votives.

Thanks for your advice as well as Canwax staff's. I ordered the 73s and they work perfectly, whew! I've got a big show on the weekend so now I'll sell feeling more confident with the candles. I've got to hand it to the staff here for the speedy service and delivery of the wicks, all the way to BC within 24 hours! Thanks again!
